Lessons came quite later, and unfortunately it did not go well: I quit and was even angry at the instrument for three years. In hindsight this turned out to be a lesson on how influential teachers and first musical experiences can be.

Gladly my mother didn’t give up and very kindly pushed me to pick up piano again when I was 13. I found an amazing teacher who sparked my curiosity and creativity. From then on my mind was clear: I would become a classical pianist. Fast forward some years and I am happy to say music is my passion and profession. (Read more button, the rest drops if clicked)

Teaching was not in the picture at all at the beginning, in fact I didn’t want to do it at all. But then I started teaching in Argentina after my bachelor's degree. People from all ages and backgrounds, with very different goals and taste for music. And my perspective slowly changed.

I saw the excitement of elderly people learning a new language, the joy of children playing a cool song for their friends, the “eureka” moments when we understand something complex, the parents joy of seeing their children make and enjoy art. How grateful I became of being able to share music from this place as well.

As I continued performing, I realised that the same thing was happening outside the classroom. Some of the most meaningful things music had given me were not the concerts themselves, but the people I met through them. Collaborating with musicians from different backgrounds, creating projects like Ether Trio, communicating with artists from different disciplines, and listening to different perspectives taught me that music has an incredible ability to create valuable human connections. Many of those collaborations became friendships that I deeply cherish today, and a lot of those musical experiences have stayed close to my heart.

When I moved to the Netherlands, I noticed something that surprised me. Musical education can be very good, but many music schools seem to revolve around individual lessons. Students come in, they have their lesson, and go home. Teachers rarely have opportunities to exchange ideas or learn from one another, and parents are often left outside the learning process. It made me wonder how much richer music education could be if we intentionally created more opportunities for people to connect.

That question slowly became the seed for Nuvia Music School.

I wanted to create a place where learning an instrument is only part of the experience. A place where students, parents and teachers can grow together. Where children can make music with others, families are encouraged to get involved in the journey, and teachers inspire each other as much as they inspire their students. A place where music is not only something we learn, but something that brings us together.
